There are two kinds of t-shirts that I absolutely hate. One, are wolf t-shirts or any kind of shirt with airbrushed drawings depicting epic events like wolf tees . Secondly, I hate ironic t-shirts. They are not stylish and they make you look like the attention whore kid in highschool that had no friends and went to prom by himself. Oh look at me, I’m so ironic, har har har. Fuck you.

Fortunately for you, great graphic tees exist, and are fairly inexpensive too. Here’s a list of a couple of places where you can get some kickass tees that looks great and won’t kill your wallet.

Threadless is fairly popular these days. It’s a community of artists who post up designs on the website for selection. The designs are rated and the great ones are chosen for print. There’s an excellent amount of variety in the designs. Some of them are cartoony, silly and disgustingly cute, and some are really artistic. Best of all, they’re cheap as hell. A shirt typically costs around $18, and they have sales often where you can snag em for under 10 bucks. Quite a steal.

A personal favorite of mine, Design By Humans follows a similar model like Threadless, and also has a thriving community contributing to the designs. I like DBH because their artwork is absolutely fantastic. It’s like wearing a painting and showing everybody how awesome it is. I think of them as Threadless‘ cooler and sexier older brother with the BMW M3. They run from $12 to $25.

EXPRESS isn’t just for guidos anymore. Not only do they make some rad jeans, they also make excellent graphic tees. They can usually be found Buy 1 Get 1 50% off and other similar deals, so it’s quite the bargain, especially at around $30 per shirt. Just know that you’ll have to wait in a line full of bronze gods and all of the Jersey Shore before you can make it to checkout.

La Fraise is…weird. They’re also eccentric. And bold. Colorful. But still strange. Shirts run at about €19 which is about $27 bucks+ shipping which is kind of pricey. Regardless, I think their designs are quirky and definitely worth a look, if not strange. They also have a shirt with boobies. I love cute European shit.

Long gone are the days of the tall tee. The same house behind the red rhino also makes some fairly nice graphic tees. A lot of the designs in the Cut n’ Sew line are regal inspired (and everybody loves that, right!?) and crest-like which I think is getting overdone these days. Despite that, I really also like is the grungy and street touch the designs have. Even though the prices average around $28, you should definitely check them out. I’d pay that much easily for the one with the boobies.
